Exterior Sconces (wall lights)

Like all fixtures, exterior sconces serve both a functional and decorative function. It’s important to consider both elements when choosing a wall light:

• Function- Typically sconces project light both outwards and down, while some also cast light upwards. Because the maximum wattage is specific to each fixture, make sure that the capacity matches your needs.

• Aesthetics- Sconces come in every style from minimalist Modern to ornate Victorian. You can choose a style that matches your architecture, or contrasts with it. For example, a simple contemporary sconce can give a modern feel to an older home (although a traditional sconce on a modern home probably is not a wise idea). Like a piece of jewelry, a sconce can either become of focal point or blend into the larger composition.
