Guide to Armoires:

The armoire has come a long way. Back in its “wardrobe” days, this tall piece of furniture was originally intended to be used for hanging clothes when built-in closet space was in short supply. In recent years, it’s evolved into a universal storage option that can serve handsomely in any room of the home.
  • Master suite: Furniture armoires are still a common fixture in many bedrooms. Even if you’ve got ample closet space, an armoire keeps everyday essentials close at hand while lending a sophisticated elegance to your personal space. If you’ve got one that has drawers and shelving inside, it can also accommodate jewelry, shoes, and other miscellany.
  • Media room: TV armoires have surpassed traditional entertainment centers for storing televisions and media components. The doors can be easily shut to neatly conceal the TV screen when it’s not in use.
  • Bathroom: A furniture armoire is perfect for storing extra towels, personal toiletries, and cleaning supplies.
  • Dining room: Complement your dining table and sideboard with a charming antique armoire. Shelving can be used to store extra place settings, while drawers can accommodate silverware and linens.
  • Playroom: Looking for a space-efficient way to keep kids’ rooms and playrooms tidy? A storage armoire combats clutter with shelves and drawers, cleverly hidden by the exterior doors. To help you make your bedroom decorating ideas come alive, we’ve assembled a collection of traditional and contemporary armoires in a variety of finishes and styles, from classic cherry wood to antique white.

White Armoires for the Nursery

It’s true babies are a bundle of joy. It’s also true along with baby and the joy comes a whole bushel of stuff. When you start thinking of all the nursery necessities required to take care of your little one properly, you’ll also be amazed how much room you’ll need to store it. A nursery armoire provides a great solution to store all the blankets, mattress liners, fitted sheets and so forth you will accrue. With drawer space and shelving, the armoires below provide space for extra items baby receives as gifts such as clothing to be grown into, extra towels and baby toys.

We really love these French style white armoires as they’ll work nicely no matter whether your little one is a boy or a girl. Either one of these is sure to become a family heirloom.

British Traditions French Armoire White

The British Traditions French Armoire lends itself to the French provincial style which is known for its hardwoods in painted finishes. This particular piece would work well in a semi-formal to formal baby’s room with its brass hardware, crown paneled moldings, carved legs and scalloped skirt.

Honfleur Carved Armoire

Elegant and graceful, the Honfleur Carved Armoire is another British Traditions’ masterpiece. Raised-paneled double doors and a handy bottom drawer are decorated with delicate carving which extends to the scalloped skirt and petite cabriole legs.
