Animal prints are still going strong in home interiors--especially zebra stripes. They're everywhere, rugs, wall treatments, upholstery and now on glass pendant lights. Who knew how cool that could look? The designers of the Tania Zebra Satin Nickel Mini Pendant have taken simple pendant lights to a whole new level.
This light is a great way to add just a touch of zebra's black and white to a contemporary space. Made from European glass and hung from a satin nickel fixture, the Tania Zebra is very sleek and sophisticated.

Make a strong style statement at your doorstep with simple outdoor lights. A beautiful sconce on each side of the front door can add to the design of your home, welcoming guests and providing a measure of security.
If the exterior of your house has a feel of formality, you might consider a traditional outdoor sconce like the Troubadour Medium Outdoor Wall-Mounted Lantern. With lots of curves in the ribbed glass shade and the intricately detailed metalwork, this light sets itself apart from the pack of more ordinary fixtures. The ebony pearl finish adds another beautiful element to the lantern's great design.

Giclee shades have hit the wall with contemporary wall sconces, sometimes called swing arm wall lamps. We've seen a lot of these beautiful shades on hanging pendant lamps, but they're really quite special on a swing arm fixture.
The Tempo Retro Dots and Waves Plug-in Swing Arm Wall Light is all decked out with a retro patterned giclee shade and brushed steel finish and looks like it just stepped out of a Mid-Century modern house. Great as a reading light, we think a pair of these lamps would be perfect on either side of a contemporary bed.

Modern wall sconces are perfect for dressing up a powder or full bath room. A pair placed on either side of a rectangular or oval mirror is a interesting way to show off modern wall sconces. A modern look isn’t always about simplicity, texture and unusual materials add interest and a big impact.
For example, the Geometric Bone Wall Sconce makes great use of a modern grid pattern handmade up light set amongst a traditional tiffany style lamp. The combination of the curvy lamp and the geometric shade design, make it versatile enough to use in a modern, contemporary or traditional setting.

Schonbek designers were certainly thinking out of the traditional floor lamps box when they created the Crystal Six Light Floor Lamp for their Rose Collection. They took the incredible look of one of the Rose Collection chandeliers and fashioned it into what can only be called a magnificent floor lamp. Instead of hanging from the ceiling, this six light chandelier is on top of a floor lamp base.
The beauty of crystal raindrops, faceted crystal beads and lovely green crystal leaves decorating multiple clear crystal vases make this lamp a true showpiece. There are several choices available in finishes and crystals.
The company suggests two options, "You can treat this lamp as a statuesque floor candelabrum with exposed candles, or order the optional granny shades for a nouveau Victorian flavor." The shades are sold separately.
Whether you choose to use this lamp in the bedroom or formal living room, we think you'll smile every time you pass by.
Decorative clocks don't seem to be on the top of many interior decorating wish lists today. It's a shame really because there are lots of great pieces that can add a decorative focal point in most any room. Perhaps we don't think much about clocks because time is at hand continuously--on our televisions, computer screens and cell phones.
In the past wood clocks were just about the only choice. Now, we can find beautiful designs in many materials. Wood is still a favorite, but metals and synthetics are readily available in many shapes and sizes.
The Uttermost Cason Wall Clock in Chestnut Brown is a good example of a wood clock that is large enough at 30" across to become an interesting feature in an entry or dining room. It would look great above a sideboard in the dining room or a long table in the foyer. The Uttermost Cason with its scooped frame design in distressed chestnut brown wood veneer and antiqued gold details is designed by Grace Feyock.

Looking for the perfect lighting fixture among the myriad of chosen available in glass pendant lights is like looking for one amazing tree in the forest. That's what happened when we began searching for a great light to hang over our modern style rectangular table. Since the table is actually in the kitchen, we decided to start our search in kitchen pendant lights.
Who knew there were so many beautiful hanging lights? After a lot of thought, we've settled on one we think will look lovely in our modern dining space and suits the kitchen design.
And the winner is … the Stratus Satin Nickel Trestle Pendant. It might be considered formal, but we think it will fit perfectly into an everyday environment. It's called a trestle pendant because it features four lights in a single straight row. Made of solid brass finished in satin nickel, the Stratus is beautifully designed panels of handmade smoke bubble glass.
Yes, this one is a keeper.

Let's face the facts. Not every house or apartment has soaring ceilings. Low ceilings may present a challenge when it comes to lighting. However, what may at first seem like negative feature could easily be turned into a positive one. Today's modern flush mount ceiling lights offer some gorgeous designs. The Sonata Semi Flushmount by Nulco Lighting, with its crystal globes and nuggets is one of those designs that can transform any room, including one with low ceilings. It's made of 30% fully polished lead crystal. Crystal options include either all clear crystal or clear crystal with colored light peridot STRASS® accents shown here.
Even flush mount ceiling lights, once considered mundane and uninteresting, are available in beautiful updated styles. The Bel Air Modern Flush Mount Light is an example of how far these ugly ducklings have come. It's unique, modern and a bit industrial, but with a twist of unexpected glitter from crystal glass beads.

For many of you, choosing outdoor lighting may not be at the top of your favorites list when it comes to designing the home of your dreams. However, creating a beautiful home design inside and out is all in the details, even the ones that may seem the most insignificant like choosing bulkhead lights.
Bulkhead lights--originally installed on the walls of ships where rugged, weather-proof lighting was required--have been given new life and shiny new opportunities to provide not only much-needed lighting, but beauty to a very different structure, the home.
The Poseidon Bulkhead Light in contemporary bronze is proof, that exterior home lighting can be as gorgeous as it is functional. Use several to light an entry sidewalk or a pair to illuminate either side of the front door.

If the Poseidon doesn't quite fit your style or the look you are going for, we have so many more beautiful bulkhead lights to choose from.
